Truth or Lie
The Tangled Fae series is full of rainbows and unicorns?
Lie.
But, there are unalived unicorns and a downpour of rain from the blood of, well, everyone. 😁
Desire to read this series again? 5!
Best part of any fantasy romance for me is the interaction between the two main characters. And, wow, can I just say thank you for a series that delivers the most amount of time I’ve seen, in any series, with the main characters flirting, fighting, yearning, and dying. There is no lack of creativity when it comes to constant banter here and it’s always fresh!
The revelations come just at the right time in this series, and I found even after events unfold, I still absolutely wanted to read to the very end.
What an amazing tale! No idea how she comes up with this stuff. The imagination brought to life here is really incredible and this series fulfills all my dreams of the perfect pacing, romantic situations, witty banter, and complete endings that I have for all of my fantasy romance reading.
This is one of those series where a second reading is a must, because knowing all the revelations will make it even more romantic given the completely new understanding of all that Scouvrel does and says!

Satisfying end.
A satisfying end to the series. I enjoyed each book equally. It was fast paced and the plot holds your attention. The romance was a fantastic enemies to lovers that didn't feel rushed. And the world building in such short books felt fully fleshed out.
I do wish there were a few slower moments so it didn't feel like a thousand big events happened in the space of three days where the main character never paused to catch her breath.
After a while, the author's habit of repetition became incredibly noticible to the point that it jarred me from the story. Things such as: "He stepped over the object in one step." It gave the writing a sloppy feel. Though looking at the sheer number of titles published by this author, I don't think she'll bother working on that, which is a disappointment as she has quite a talent for creating additive stories.
