AVOID
This is an old DP when she wrote as Susan Kyle and it shows!! There is not just one couple but 3 so the story gets a bit confusing at times as to who is getting with whom and the stage of the relationship.
I got to about half way then gave up as I kept getting lost as to which couple the story was talking about. There is plenty of evidence in the story that this was written back in the 80's, and having read others from that time that DP wrote this does not match up. I also have to wonder if she recycled some of the story line into newer books as there are some similarities between this and more recent books.
Todd McLaren does his usual fair go at female voices and does put some emotion into the reading but he is not the greatest at creating an atmosphere. His voice is soothing to listen to and not grating but it does start to sound repetitive after a while so don't try to listen to one of his books in a single sitting - you will lose the plot!.
Overall this is one book that I will be returning for credit as it is just not up to par of an old DP book. Night Fever was way better!
