Good info - God awful narrator
I'm struggling to listen to this for any length of time as the narrator is terrible. He sounds like the voice that narrates the Reddit comments, and this is very off-putting, thus I can only stomach listening to this for anything more than 15 minutes.

Horrendous narrator!!
Great subject and really good points but OMG.....who the heck is this narrator!!??? As a result of his scratchy, monosyllabic voice, I wish I'd never wasted my credits on this book. The narrator is like a cross between a cocky robotic borg and headache inducing nails being scraped down a chalkboard!!! i really want to hear the subject matter but with this narrator it's hard to concentrate on it. Who auditions these people? Shouldn't the voice be emotionally engaging and captivating or at the very least not migraine prompting?
One chapter in and I'm irritated, unable to concentrate on the subject matter and feeling somewhat eager to lie down in a silent and darkened room to heal my poor headache!!! Horrendous narrator!!!

Not suitable for audiobook
These types of books contain so much content and move so quickly that it is impossible to reflect, and therefore utilise any wisdom. A ‘real’ book offers the chance to breathe, maybe even make a note or two.

Listen to sample before you buy
Only just bought this book in audio form. Made a big mistake and didn't listen to a sample, if I had I would have heard the narration is very mechanical and monotoned! For me I find that difficult to follow - I like a more natural narration. I can't comment on the content as not listened to it all and not sure I will be able to. Shame as the details covers everything I was looking for,

Garbage
This is straight up garbage and I wish I had realized that the reviews are all fake (even the reviewer names look made up) before purchasing. Not even a few minutes in and the narrator says that REM, for example, stands for “random eye movement” vs rapid eye movement. Horrible.

Morality lecture included
I wanted to learn about emotions and it was good until the "negative emotions" sections. There are no inherently bad or negative emotions just how we respond to them and this book tells you the "good" and "bad" ways to deal. I believe it is up to the individual with their own belief system to discern what are good and bad ways to deal with emotions. I don't need morality lessons from something that is supposed to be scientific...it just seems like the wrong forum. If the author had said that in their opinion it was bad to act certain ways due to an emotion that is fine but to act as is social constructs are scientific fact...that doesn't sit well with me and if it doesn't sit well with you, you may not want to read this book. It does contain some good information but that overlay just takes away from the rest.

Boring monotone
This book has very basic information and is extremely boring and uninteresting to listen to.
The narrator has a monotone almost robotic way of talking.
There's also a lot of liberal woke propaganda included

Great Book, a little dated, Author a little arrog
Great book that helped launch the emotional intelligence / psychology craze into this field. Most of the information is pure gold. Some information seems stretchy and the author shows a bit of overconfidence in his knowledge and field. However, all-in-all, a must read for people interested in the field!

Awesome creation.
I believe in those tools that they provide because they work. easy-to-understand vocabulary, I really like it, I think most of the things you say are consistent with real life.
