Summary

The first book of Andrea Kane's Kingsley in Love series - which concludes with Wishes in the Wind: Is Trenton Kingsley's long-awaited revenge about to be undone by love? Six years in exile have given Trenton Kingsley time to perfect his plot for vengeance. But when capricious fate turns his dreams to dust, the tormented duke of Broddington devises an even better scheme. An eye for an eye, a sister for a father. And seduction be damned. By royal decree, he will take ownership of his rival's most cherished possession: the fair, innocent Ariana.

Ariana Caldwell has heard the tragic rumors since she was a child. Kingsley tore her family apart and now she's being forced to become his wife. Furious at being tied to the man she detests above all others, Ariana isn't prepared for the tender feelings her new husband arouses. Determined to uncover the truth of the family feud - no matter how shocking - she embarks on a search that could cost her everything, including the man who is slowly winning her heart.

Don’t waste your time!

Horrible story and very frustrating! I can’t stand stories that use sex as a weapon and treat woman like objects! I couldn’t finish the book!

Misty review

The story was good but I didn't care for the narrator. I was having a difficult time staying with the storyline because the characters voices were not unique enough to tell who was who.

What a wonderful story

Being a hopeless romantic, this book has it all, plus secrets, surprises, and a little bit of magic! I loved every bit of it. The narrator is superb! She smoothly glides from one accent into another bringing the story to life.

Could not get into it

I couldn't even tell you what this story was about but the narration was so distracting. I tried to give it a chance, but this narrator...like nails on a chalk board. Also, I thought this was Christian historical romance, and it is not.

A very good story

I enjoyed the story very much and would have liked it even more if the narrator had been better. She seemed to laugh at inappropriate times and when portraying an angry man it was beyond her.

good story.

The story line was good. Betrayal, vengeance, lies, rumors, manipulation and greed determine the past that has haunted Trenton.
Trenton marries the youngest sister of his nemesis. The past returns to haunt him and his new wife.
The story concludes with the truth revealing itself at the end.
The ending lacked resolution of clearing Trenton's name.
Narrator's voices were ok.
Overall, it was a bit slow, but flowed nonetheless. Not one of my ultimate favorites, but an easy listen.
