Fun little short story
Worth the few bucks. Nothing mandatory in terms of The Expanse but it fleshes out a story of we’ve heard summarized before into a 1 hour chunk. Like I said, a bit sized deviation from the main story to aid the world building, but nothing more.

A well written short story
If you are thinking about reading the Expanse books and collation of short stories, or if you're a fan of the Expanse but haven't read this, do so. It is an excellent prequel.

Not necessary
If you're an Uber duber fan of the series it's definitely worth the hour listen. Most of the story is filled in the gaps of the 1st few books. But a joy to get the more flashed out world. If you want to start the series with this book it wouldn't hurt if you want to pick this book up midway through the rest of the books it wouldn't hurt either.

Solomon didn't kill himself...
I really enjoyed seeing a more hashed-out version of this as I originally saw this depicted on the TV show.

A fun diversion
It’s an unnecessary element of the overall Expanse story arc, but no less enjoyable or well performed. I liked the characters, even if we have little time to know them. And it’s interesting to peek ‘back in time’ when you know what follows. The Churn was my favorite novella, but Drive holds its own.

Worth listening to
Especially if you are a big fan of the series and enjoy getting pieces of backstories. I wouldn't use a full credit on it though. Get it on sale if you can instead.

Short but Nice
A very short novella describing the invention of the Epstein drive. Nice story, nice character, nice narration. Totally unnecessary unless you are an Expanse geek.

Whoops...
Reminds me of Tom Goodwin's "The Gulf Between" about a man stuck in full acceleration. But that man has a robot doctor aboard that keeps him alive, and conscious, as he flies off into eternity.

Listen to Books in Order
I re-listened to all the books of the Expanse series. The first time, I listened to them out-of-order. I don't think many of the books were published yet. The story made more sense when I listened to the books in order. I hadn't realized that it would have made that much of a difference. The shorts were the best. My favorite was "Strange Dogs."
