Summary

The time has come when the people of Lumnia must unite or be doomed to fall. Ancient foes must become trusted friends if they are to endure. But The Eternal Emperor Shinzan has weapons that have yet to be unleashed. And he will not allow the challenge to his power to go unanswered.

Ethan must now seek out the meaning of the prophecy that has guided his fate. With Kat at his side, they walk fearlessly into the unknown. But ghosts from the past return to haunt them. And their love and devotion will be tested to the very limits of endurance.

Didn't end.

I didn't realise that this was just a part of the story and not the whole thing. Still enjoyed it

Not a patch on first two books.

I was really looking forward to this as I enjoyed the first two books but unfortunately I found it a big let down.

The narration was again good but things where let down by the story. There is not much story in this one and what there is is very predictable as well as introducing unlikable characters.

The book also basically ends in what feels like mid story. By that I mean it ends very abruptly in a very unsatisfactory way

I am undecided weather to bother with the forth book after this and going off some of the reviews I've seen I probably won't.

Pretty good

Story lost me a bit, in the pacing and content but still a solid story and have got the next already to see how it plays out. Voice acting, already impressive , found new ranges and I thought excellent.

Gets better and better

Each book in this series just seams to get better and better. I can't wait for book 4 to be released. Another great narration. If you are reading this review then make sure you start at book 1 and get ready for a good series.

Enough of the horrible sex description.

The cheezy and unfitting description of lust and play. Its unecceseary, and unwanted. Exept for that I quite enjoyed the book.

Sexy scenes slow the momentum

Expert narration surpasses the content. Third book in series, and yet the plot still feels like it's finding its way, under development. Unpolished writing style. Too many sexy scenes and conversations — they're cheesy and uninspired. Plus, they detract from the pace and the plot. Dialogue is littered with F-bombs. Characters are sometimes criminally stupid or revoltingly evil.

Across the three books, characters "couldn't help laughing" or "couldn't help looking" or "couldn't help thinking," etc. I suppose this might be how the author talks. His own speech patterns bleed into his characters too much. Thus, I cannot immerse myself into this fantasy world.

Great story line

LIKES: the story line

Dislike: more sex references than I would like. Does not add to the story.

it's ok.

it's just ok. could do without the suggestive launguage. I get it... his manhood bulges. I dont need to hear it over and over. felt like i was reading 50 shades of grey..plus it's hard to tell just how old the characters are. I really liked the godling chronicles by this author, but this is so so.

Great story with one caveat

Great series. But. The author keeps putting in more and more smut. These awkward sex scenes between characters is completely unnecessary. I picked up this series to hear about a world of magic and dragons not to read about to awkward kids trying to get it on. If the sex was happening "behind closed doors" aka say they went to bed then fast forward to the next morning that would be 100% fine. But the terribly written detailed sex really takes away from the story. That being said Im still enjoying the series and will be picking up the next book.

Disappointed

Was expecting this to wrap up the story and it dragged it out to yet another book

can't wait for next book!

I agree with other reviews, Ethan's weakness is starting to ruin the story for me.

I'm also starting to find a lot of the dwarves storyline being sort of copped out, at least that's how it feels. I really hope that's not the case as it's very interesting back story and it add depth to the race.

Regardless of my criticism I still found myself listening every chance I got and didn't want it to stop. Very excited for the next book and I hope my fears are baseless and just the result of very compelling story telling with more depth than I'm grasping.

Absolutely wonderful!!!

I have read some of the reviews about this book being to sexually graphic.

Not so, I thought the storyline was great and only made me want to read more!

Another great job by Brian D. Anderson

Great addition to the series!

I like the overall layout of the story Brian is telling as well as the way he leads you through the adventure. I also like the breaks he takes between the characters paths and I feel they are better placed than in other books instead of just in the middle of something intense like other books he leads it to a good breaking point so it isn't leaving you frustrated.

I don't like how Ethan is helpless. He's giving far too much control to his spiritual ancestor which is making it frustrating but that's part of the story and hopefully this internal battle gains some traction moving forward.

Final note, please use other words than recounted for when a character is recalling a part of their adventure.

Story ruined by plot holes and "almost" sex scenes

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

Someone who wants to read more of a teenage romance novel more than a good fantasy novel.

Has Dragonvein: Book Three turned you off from other books in this genre?

No, just from this author.

Which character – as performed by Derek Perkins – was your favorite?

The performances of all the characters were done well. The writing was the problem.

Any additional comments?

The story was riddled with plot holes, vulgarity, and almost sex scenes. The author spent more time describing how the main character felt every time he was around the girl he likes more than he does describing the major battle scenes of the book. Got tired of hearing how his manhood swelled or other romance novel like euphemisms, and how that is the one of the primary drives for the conflict in the book. Then when the author does find a plot hole he tries to cover it up rather than really address it, like, oh I should have thought to communicate with the supremely powerful mage inside of me before going into battle. The books started out with really good potential but got progressively worse for me. I won't be continuing the series and don't really care what happens to the characters, and that is rare for me in a book.
