Summary
Servant girl Milla witnesses a murder and discovers four strange eggs. Dragon eggs! Her world is turned completely upside down as she finds herself living a secret life in the palace caring for a dragon alongside her former masters.
But with unrest and rioting in the town, Milla starts to wonder if keeping the dragons a secret is really the right idea and what role her unknown past might play in it all. Perhaps the dragons are the one thing that can bring all the warring factions together once and for all....

Great story for older kids
Really enjoyable story, however the main character is just along for the ride, following the other characters that should be the leads, she's not proactive or driven.
the voice actress did a good job, clearly spoken and easy for children to comprehend even if English is not their first language, however the acting is lacking passion or feeling.

lovely characters with great personalities
lovely book. captures aspects of loads of different personalities and voices for the characters. i love this; great to lie in bed and listen to.

SUPERB!
I couldn’t bring myself to press the pause button even though it was one in the morning. I am telling you to listen to this book now. A beautiful story. I loved the way the narrator reads it! Absolutely mesmerising story! I loved the characters Mila,Tarria,Vigo and don’t forget Isacc!

Good story, didn't like the narrator
Story was engaging, kids really enjoyed it. Found had to limit the time it played in the car because the narration was so poor/irritating and distracted from otherwise excellent plot.

Surprising
I was sceptical coming into listen to this book, as I had never heard of it before. It came up when I searched for another series about dragons, Eragon. The story and character building for this was brilliant. Different enough from previous stories I've read and listened to, but intriguing enough to keep me wanting more. Very well written.

wondrous and wonderful
A gripping tale of a young girl with nothing and no one of her own. The writing pulls you into Millas life and her thoughts leaving you helpless not to care about what her future holds.
This book actually elicited a tear from me and that has not happened in a very long time.
