Summary

A must-have Spider Shepherd thriller.

The target—The Prime Minister. The assassins—hard-bitten jihadists with nothing to lose.

The only man who can stop them? Dan 'Spider' Shepherd.

But Shepherd's reputation is also on the line—he helped get one of the jihadists into the UK during the final days of the War in Afghanistan.

Now he has to track down the man whose life he once saved.

But the assassins aren't lone-wolf killers—someone much more devious is pulling their strings.

And the clock is ticking....

As good as most Spider Shepherd books

Listened on audio Paul Thornton does a very good job narrating
No private life on Spider such as letting us know how Liam is getting on is a little disappointing

Not to sure about this not like the others

A Good listen I enjoyed this book, but like all of the other books the In-laws were mentioned and his son Liam had joined the Military but in this book these people were never talked about in all this time Shepherd was on his mission doing what he does best you would of thought maybe not the In-laws so much but surely he would of contacted his Son Liam just to say Hi or even I Love you son as we were led to believe that they had a close relationship In his previous books I don't know maybe I'm being a little bit picky but I happen to notice that small detail amongst my enjoyment listening to this book.

Good but predictable

It’s another Spider Shepherd beats the jihadists tale albeit this time with a Russian influence. A lot of references to the current political situation across the world with the Ukraine invasion being referenced multiple times makes the story very realistic. However, we know what’s going to happen, Spider saves the day and eliminates the threat. Maybe it’s time for some different influences or different criminal groups to be tackled as the jihadist angle is very well trodden now.

As ever, the book is always worth listening to with Paul on vocals. Brilliant talent.

A little disappointing

Normally I adore the spider shepherd books and enthralled by the story. However, this one was a slow burner. The story had several areas that were thrilling and held my attention but there were also some that were slow and seemed to get bogged down in research detail that held no interest. Too often my mind seemed to wander off topic and lost concentration which has to be the first time for any of the authors books for me. Hopefully the next one will be better.
