Story
I’ve had a crush on my brother’s best friend since the moment I laid eyes on him four years ago. Warner Ramsey is 225 pounds of pure hotness, a media darling, and one of the best NFL quarterbacks in the league. Hell, he’s the reason I figured out I’m solidly bi. It was easy to keep my crush under control when I was in college. Now, we play for the same team, and every time he talks smack, I want to shut him up. With my mouth.

They were only kids when they met for the first time. Leo Mancini was the son of a judge. Roman Cipriani the son of a criminal. So different, yet as they shared stolen kisses and secret moments, they fell in love. One day they would run away together, have the future they deserved, because no one loved Leo like Roman did, or Roman like Leo did. But before they could make their dreams come true, their future was viciously stolen and their lives changed forever. Roman has spent the last 12 years repressing the trauma in his past, trying to pretend it didn't exist, until even he believed his own lies.

Falling in love was the easy part. Lucky and Saint are head over heels for each other. It doesn’t matter that they met only a few months ago. It also doesn’t matter that this is Saint’s first real relationship and Lucky’s first with a man. They’re infatuated, happy and excited to start their life together in LA. It isn’t as easy as they thought, though.

If there's one thing I know, it's how to play the game...both on and off the field. If it hadn't been for that one teenage slipup where I kissed Beau Campbell, I'd be able to keep fooling myself. Football is the one thing I use to distract myself from the truth, and when I screw-up and lose the game I love, I find myself right back in Fever Falls. And right back face-to-face with Cranky Campbell, who hates me even more than he did when we were kids. But whatever magic he held over me then is still there.

I wasn't supposed to fall for my older brother's best friend. Unfortunately, that ship sailed when I was a teenager, even though Chase Hawthorne always treated me like nothing more than a younger sibling. Things were worse after my parents died. Chase was sweet and supportive, which only strengthened my feelings for him. But then he'd act like I couldn't take care of myself, and that part didn't go over well with me. Yeah, I had a habit of screwing up.

It started out as a little fun. When there was a man in my building on a hookup app, why not message him? Only we didn’t meet. We just texted - one night after the other, after the other. GoodWithHisHands was the perfect escape from my life, where pressure was always on my shoulders: my father’s expectations, the worry about my sister, Maddy, getting sick again, and her ex-husband, Ryder Lynwood, suddenly back and volunteering at the same hospital as me. I like talking to him, the same way I enjoy chatting with GoodWithHisHands. They weren’t supposed to be the same person.

I spent college worrying about responsibilities and earning my teaching degree, so before graduation and moving to Atlanta with my best friend, Ross, I figure I deserve a little fun. I’ve never been with an older man, but the guy at the bar grabs my attention and doesn’t let go…for multiple rounds, all night long. The next day, when Ross introduces me to his dad, the last thing I expect is for him to be my hookup from the night before, in town from Atlanta for his son’s graduation. The best thing would be to pretend it never happened, which is easier said than done.

EXCELLENT BOOK
- By Killian Anderby on 01-03-18
Summary
Shane Wallace has made a decent life for himself in Last Chance. He built his own home on his mom's property to take care of her, owns an automotive repair shop, and when he wants to get laid, Portland isn't too far away. Not too shabby for the boy who spent his childhood getting bullied and feeling alone. Shane's content to leave his past behind him...until one of his childhood tormentors comes back to town.
Maxwell Sullivan never planned to step foot in Last Chance again. Here, he was Maxwell, a teen who suffered in silence while everyone thought he had the perfect life. Now, he's "Van", the erotic artist and photographer. He's only here to help his mom tie up some loose ends after his father's death and to apologize to Shane. After that, he's heading back to LA for good.
Shane never thought he'd have anything in common with Maxwell, but there's a depth to Van that surprises him. Van knows what it feels like to be alone. He sees Shane in ways no one else does. There's a shared connection neither can deny. Somehow, despite their rocky history, they get each other.
It's not long before the two are so drawn to each other that they tumble into bed - sometimes with Van's camera involved. Their chemistry in and out of the bedroom is undeniable. Except nothing is ever black and white. Shane can't leave his mom and Van's life is in LA. With two different lives pulling them in opposite directions, their picture-perfect ending might not be in the cards.

Prostrate!
If you’re going to narrate one of the best books written by this author and in this genre, please understand the difference between Prostrate and Prostate!
I am a believer that narration requires acting and attention to the story to convey how the dialogue should be read. This was not well done here.
On the plus side, he did incredibly well with women's voices.

Good story. Good narration.
This was a romance with a bit of angst and plenty of sex. The character development is built from glimpses into the past that show the evolution of Shane and Van's personalities from childhood to adulthood. The main conflict centers around their growing relationship, but the story also has some very thought provoking moments that deal with mental health and abuse. Most of the plot threads are tied up neatly, but a few are left out to tease the reader to pickup the next book in the series.
Overall this was an entertaining read/listen with a nicely performed narration by Tristan James.

MEH..
Story line was ok, Narrator was terrible, sex scenes were not hot at all and blasphemy and cursing every other sentence was totally unnecessary and took away from the flow of the story. very disappointed with this one. I guess they all cant be Sloan kennedy.. I think I'll go listen to Logan's need again and I suggest that Riley Hart does the same to get some much needed inspiration..

Enjoyable read.
Despite the negative reviews, some rather scathing, I was curious to see why the positive reviews contradicted them so greatly. Well, I loved it and the narrator, not someone I have listened to before, actually did a great job of creating the small town atmosphere and characters.

bully & victim: An unexpected m/m romance
It's always intriguing to see a bully and his victim become an item. Max (the x-bully) returns... all mature, gay and total hunk. How can Shane say no to that? The story is way more involving than how I put it. I kept wondering how these two people would eventually come together... but they do! It's definitely worth the listen to find out their story... very beautifully written.
Enjoy!

Hero doesn't learn.
Touching love story, quite hot in spots. The major, and probably devastating problem is that Van goes home and begs forgiveness of a boy he had harmed. He is given the grace of forgiveness and then even love, but he learns nothing from it. He doesn't see that he needs to forgive his parents just as his now-lover has forgiven him. I'm not comfortable with the idea that gays are self-centered.
