Summary
Passion and patriotism sizzle on the ice at the Winter Olympics.
It's been a dozen years since two of the world's best women hockey players, Niki Hartling and Eva Caruso, first competed against each other in the Olympic Games.
The pressure of the intense USA-Canada rivalry forced an end to their love affair, and both women moved on - Niki to coach and to marry, Eva to stretch out a playing career that her ravaged body can barely sustain anymore.
The Games are upon them once again. Eva wants one last chance to beat the Canadians and win hockey's biggest prize. Niki, now a widow and single mother, strives to coach her country to gold, even as the obstacles against her mount. The locker room seems to have ears, and there are few people Niki and Eva can trust.

What a great listen. I was hooked from the start. It had a great believable story with plenty of heart ache, love, tragedy and sportsmanship. I thought the author nailed every part exceptionally well. Will now be looking for more titles of hers!!!

Playing fair
‘Good sportsmanship’ doesn’t really apply to many high level athletes and, although this book takes it further than (I hope) many sports men and women would go, it does highlight that point well.
I was entertained and really enjoyed the intrigue

Loved the sports related, 2nd chance story
Really enjoyed Eva and Nickys story. Add in ice hockey, Characters set to disrupt fair play and you get a well paced,well written story.

Super listen
This is one of my favourite books to read and I was so happy to see it finally on Audible.
I love this story and the narration is first class.
