Summary

Life isn't always fair, and that's something that Llewellyn Gardner knows about firsthand. His life was on the fast track until one night of extreme passion changed everything. Now eight years later, he's still living with the aftershocks of that night. Everywhere he turns or runs, there's another reminder. What the hell do you do when you try to drown your demons only to find out they can swim?

Shane Smith, Jr., owner of Smith Construction, could see the emotional turmoil within his new employee - it's why he hired him. There was something about the gorgeous, misunderstood man with the overly expressive eyes that came to their small town with a past no one was willing to overlook. Shane could see the good in Llewellyn, and those eyes of his were a clear window to his soul. Shane wasn't going to let the man live a future of solitude because his past had been plagued with deceit.

Llewellyn wasn't sure what to think about Shane. After years of protecting himself from being tricked twice, he was now faced with worry again. What would happen to him if Shane didn't believe his truth and walked away? Llewellyn wasn't sure he'd be able to survive being left alone. Again.

Contains mature themes.

Meh !

Beautifully narrated nonsense: insta-hate insta-love, wash and repeat. Unlikeable MCs. Couldn't get to the end. This author can do so much better.

Cry much!!!

Oohh dear, I didn’t think I can read this book at all. I cried for Lou, my heart ached for his brother.

I was so angry the deputy did not get punished or at least get some kind of karma, but again everything happened to bring him to the love he needed and met another brother in ace. But it was hard to listen for the first 12 chapters. But we’ll worth it xxx

Brilliant!

Story: AE Via strikes again! I am in constant awe over this author’s skill and amazing grasp on emotions. The characters she creates and stories she tells are so brilliant there is no way to stay neutral. They grip the heart and don’t let go.
This title takes on some incredibly difficult matters and the development of the story is just spot on. It’s realistic, emotional and so well written all together!
Narration: AE Via’s duet with Aiden Snow is a guaranteed success. The performance elevates the books to a whole new level and fits the characters perfectly.

Awesome

Another awesome book by A.E. Via. Didn't think i was going to make it passed chapter 9 and through the heartache and tears for Llewellyn . But very soon fell in love with his and Shane's love story. Hoping that this isn't going to be a standalone and we get to have other stories featuring their family and friends. Another brilliant job by Aiden Snow thank you for bringing this to life.

ABS

I loved Lou and Shane's story. I was so sad/mad at moss for what he did to Lou that was horrible.
Although Lou went through numerous trials and tribulations he made it through. I've read quite a few books by A E Via this story is by far my favorite. I definitely would recommend reading
Aiden Snow has a great voice and is an outstanding Narrator

Disappointing but not a terrible book

I loved the Nothing Special Series and went on a quest to read/listen to all of A.E. Via's books. I think this may be a case of "too much of a good thing" .

*SLIGHT SPOLIERS AHEAD*

The book starts with quite a bang and I was drawn into it. The topic is one that is not often approached in the genre. I was anxious to see how it panned out and how Lew persevered - how he overcomes his physical and mental effects of what happened to him. But the book rapidly turns into a fairy tale version of reality. Which is surprising considering almost all of the characters are alpha males.

I'm not saying men don't have drama or sensitive sides .. quite the opposite BUT the book just runs headfirst into over romanticized insta-love . they go from complete strangers in a crowd at a movie theater to declaring everlasting devotion less than a week later? Lew's mental block that has overwhelmed him for 8 years suddenly unravels after listening to one Bon Jovi song? what the? I avoid m/f romance books for the exact thing that this book became- I couldn't even finish it.

very good!

Aiden Snow is one of my very favorite narrators and he nailed it again with this book. I'm not gonna lie, I felt this one in the gut and I was so relieved when Lou's luck finally changed and he got his HEA. I loved the story, it held my interest and and was thought provoking. The characters were developed and likeable. Its my 1st book by AE Via and won't be my.last. I highly recommend this story.

I don't know what to say except to say this

talk about an emotional roller coaster of hurt and the lost of a young man's dream and the damage one person could do to another just because they hide behind a mask.

I love The Arthur and the narrator I cannot get enough of both of them. A must read!!!!!!!
