Summary

A visit to an open house brings small-town detective Stormy Day into the center of a troubling murder.

The local police aren’t lacking for suspects. The victim, realtor Michael Sweet, was a bully who made countless enemies over his years in Misty Falls.

The problem for Stormy is that the most likely suspects are friends of hers. A couple of them couldn’t look more guilty if they tried. Helping the police to crack this case may break Stormy’s heart.

Worse, if she trusts the wrong person, Stormy’s heart may have bigger problems. Like getting stabbed a whole bunch of times!

Great series

I love this series and purchase kindle and audio copies so I can switch back and forth easily. The change in narrators felt off and Finnegan Day no longer having an Irish accent was disappointing. There are long pauses in the narrative and little to no change in the voice for each character. I’m hoping that improves with the next installment.

Angela Pepper Does it Again!

I have been listening to Angela Pepper's Wisteria Witches series and loving them. So I thought I would try something else of hers with the Stormy Day Mysteries. Pepper is an amazing story teller.

This book is not the first in the series. I felt if I had started from the beginning of the series I would have a deeper sense of the character relationships with each other. They are clear in this book. I think I would of just felt more depth. That is on me not on the authour.

The characters are loveable and fun, which is something I love about Pepper's story telling. Stormy is funny and has a cat named Geoffrey (not sure on the spelling.) She works with the police not for the police, which sometimes gets her into some interesting situations. Stormy reminds me a lot of my mum as well. She loves solving mysteries, and she is not comfortable with kids. The scenes in this book with Stormy and kids are laugh out loud hilarious. I was very curious on the title. Again, when it is revealed I was laughing. There is also a cat in this called Peek-A-Boo. He reminds me of my cat James Bond. He made me laugh very hard even with no words (because he is a cat.)

Cheryl May did an amazing job with the narration. I would try a book just on the fact she was narrating. Her character voices are unique and clear.

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

I love Stormy & her friends!

This is my first book for this series so I am jumping in at book 5, but I didn’t feel like I missed any key details. The author did a great job of telling us how everyone knows one another & explaining past plot lines, and I love that! But it also made me all the more curious to go back and listen to books 1-4 now!
The characters are so well developed, there is so much detail given to ever interaction that I felt very immersed in the story from the first chapter. The narrator does a really great job of bringing them all to life, and I felt like every girl has met a Quinn in her life! The story was one that felt real, and had plenty of red herrings along the way to keep it interesting.
All in all I really found myself immersed and enjoyed this series! I’m going to hop back to book 1 and start from the beginning now! I was given this review copy and have shared my Honest review.

Great Read

Death of a Double Dipper (Stormy Day Mystery #5) was a great read by Angela Pepper. Stormy Day visits an open house and it brings her to the center of a troubling murder. The victim was realtor Michael Sweet and was a bully who had many enemies in Misty Falls. Unfortunately for Stormy the most likely suspects are her friends. I really enjoyed this book and can't wait to read more by the author.

Aging Cheerleaders

Even though she's not officially working on the case, Stormy can't resist looking into a murder after she finds the body of her boyfriend's sister's husband (think that's complicated? Just wait) stabbed in the bathtub of a house his real estate agent wife is showing.
Lots of hometown folks, high school flashbacks and potential murders to sort out as Stormy uncovers the clues.
A complex mystery that's entertaining and fast paced.
A great read for cozy mystery fans.

Fun Cozy PI Mystery

I really enjoyed this cozy mystery. Angela does a great job with her plots in her mysteries in keeping them both believable and unpredictable. There's nothing worse then figuring out the mystery too early in a book and she does a fantastic job keeping the mystery going, having both colorful and entertaining characters, and keeping her books light by putting in comedy at the right moments. The narration was wonderful and really helped add to the story.

Fun Listen!

Angela Pepper is a very talented author. Death of a Double Dipper is a very cute cozy mystery. I love how the author does not write predictable or cliché storylines. The Stormy Day series is one of my favorites. I thought that Cheryl May did a great job bringing the characters to life. She gave distinguishable voices to the characters. I requested this review copy audiobook and have voluntarily written this review. I will most definitely listen to more books by this author and narrator.
