Summary

From best-selling and award-winning author Jay Kristoff comes the thrilling and heart-breaking conclusion to The Nevernight Chronicle.

Mia Corvere, gladiatii, escaped slave and infamous assassin, is on the run. After the greatest games in Godsgrave’s history ended with the most audacious murders in the history of the Itreyan Republic, Mia finds herself pursued by Blades of the Red Church and soldiers of the Luminatii legion.

She may never escape the City of Bridges and Bones alive. Her mentor Mercurio is now in the clutches of her enemies. Her own family wishes her dead. And her nemesis, Consul Julius Scaeva, stands but a breath from total dominance over the Republic. But beneath the city, a dark secret awaits.

Together with her lover Ashlinn, brother Jonnen and a mysterious benefactor returned from beyond the veil of death, she must undertake a perilous journey across the Republic, seeking the final answer to the riddle of her life. Truedark approaches. Night is falling on the Republic for perhaps the final time.

"If you love Robin Hobb or George R. R. Martin, you will adore Nevernight." (Starburst)

"With a delicate balance of the ancient and the magical, this tense and brutal tale is unflinching, thrilling and satisfying." (Publishers Weekly)

"Joins lyrical high fantasy, Pratchett-like humour and unflinching descriptions of violence [...] something special." (SciFi Now)

Never flinch, never fear and never ...ever forgot!

.....This book, along with it's unforgettable predecessors, nevernight and godsgrave, have stole a piece of my soul. The strength of characters has left me in awe of Jay Kristoff's literary ability. I laughed and cried and laughed some more. In a tale you find yourself encouraging murder and deception and willing on evil acts because you feel apart of it, just as if it was your own vengeance being played out . What can I say this book becomes apart of you. And will be read time and time again.

Perfect end to a wonderful story, told over 3 books - all of which are read beautifully by a fantastic narrator.

The Perfect Ending

I finished Godsgrave in May this year. Oh man, I was furious with Jay when I finished it. I wanted to throw a tantrum for that cliffhanger ending. So quite clearly I was counting down the days until I could read Darkdawn.

If you are reading this then you are most likely familiar with Jay's writing. You will know that Jay loves to push the boundaries. He loves to do things that no one else does. He's also not afraid to hurt you as the reader.

So now I have set the scene for this final chapter I'm going to tell you what I think of it. I loved it! It was everything I hoped for and so much more. I had equal amounts of hate and gratitude for Jay. There were times when I wanted to throttle him and times when I just wanted to scream thank you from the roof of my house.

This is one of the most unique series. The main character is, in her own words, a vengeful, selfish bitch. She's not a hero. She's not out to save the world. She's just out for revenge and yet I still love her. Jay has a way of making you root for Mia despite everything she is not.

There are so many things I loved about this book that I can't mention because I am so anti spoilers. I would kill anyone that spoiled this book for me and I refuse to be that person. What I will say is you won't regret reading this series.

With this book, I sped through the first half and then I realised this is the end like there's no more coming and I slowed down. I had a classic bookworm problem. I wanted to know how the book ended but I didn't want it to end.

I know that I will listen to this story again. I feel like this story will become a comfort to me and one I will turn to when I've had a bad day and need something to lift my spirits.

Brilliant read

I am not always in favour of an American accent reading fantasy books as it usually sounds odd to me, however this narrator was perfect for these characters.
Thank you for stealing hours of listening when I should have been doing other things. Could not put it down.
Great story, great narration, loved every minute.

Superbly Written Tale.

When All Is Blood, Blood Is All. Wow what a fantastic conclusion in the Nevernight series, absolutley brilliant storytelling that leaves you in awe of Jay Kristoffs amazing world. A fast paced action packed blood drenched tale, vulgar mouthed assassins that will have hanging on every page wishing that there is no end in sight to this epic journey of vengeance. Fantastic characters, plot and the dark, oh very dark setting where the shadow daemons come out to play. I love the way the author takes the mickey of his footnotes in the story and it brings a bit humorous fun to a tale where there is just so much stabbyness and death. Darkdawn follows Mia Corvere teenage assassin, ex gladiator, former member of the Red Church dedicated to the worship of the goddess of Night and murder and dark kin a magic user that can manuplate shadows to her will. This book finds Mia on the run from the events of Godsgrave, the attempted assassination of her arch enemies the leaders of the republic that destroyed her Familia with a hostage in tow reeling from the fallout of realizing that she has been used as a pawn in the great game that her allies aren’t who she thought and that several characters thought to be dead and gone are back. Will Mia get her revenge that she is so obsessed with, read to find out, you will absolutely love the twists and turns in this superbly written trilogy. The narrator Holter Graham has given his all and has brought this amazing series to life. I very highly recommend...🖤🗡💀💥

Amazing

Narrator: AMAZING
Plot: AMAZING
Characters: AMAZING
Amazing? AMAZING

I'm litrerally dead right now and all i can say is AMAZING. And seriously *well done* to Holter Graham: he voiced the characters exactly right (Mercurio is the bessst) and I truly forgot that the same man is speaking for all these different characters. Truly phenomenal.

Good, but not as good as the first

I loved the first book but found this one to be very up and down for me. There were parts where I nearly gave up on it, but glad I stuck it out to the end. Overall I really enjoyed this series and the like the narrator a lot.
