Story
For decades we've been told that positive thinking is the key to a happy, rich life. "F*ck positivity," Mark Manson says. "Let's be honest, shit is f*cked, and we have to live with it." In his wildly popular Internet blog, Manson doesn't sugarcoat or equivocate. He tells it like it is - a dose of raw, refreshing, honest truth that is sorely lacking today. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck is his antidote to the coddling, let's-all-feel-good mind-set that has infected modern society and spoiled a generation, rewarding them with gold medals just for showing up.

It’s true…while nobody likes to be called a liar; the reality is we all lie! We are taught to lie by the very people who end up being most offended by the practice. Our parents tell us to 'wipe that expression off our face', when we turn our nose up at food we don’t like - they would apparently prefer us to pretend we do like it rather than admit the truth. As part of the New Emotional Intelligence series, in this book human behaviour and communication expert Craig Beck reveals the lie detection secrets of the F.B.I. and behavioural analysis unit (B.A.U).

Story
The foundations of the study of dark psychology are not modern. The models of classical comedy and tragedy during the height of the Greek Empire illustrate an understanding of this uniquely human capacity even during ancient times. The comedies and tragedies of ancient Greek theater were used as a means for society to experience catharsis - a collective exercise in which social bonding occurred by the creation and release of social tensions as a means of resolving societal conflicts.

Among the important problems with the advancement of language is dependability. How did human beings end up with a language? In other words, language and rituals co-evolved together. People could now use body language along with spoken signals to communicate with each other. In addition, this was also the very first time they might state something verbally and something else non-verbally. To neutralize the devastating impact of lies on group cohesion, human beings developed routines and religion.

This book can help you take your persuasion skills to the next level, mastering the secrets and the techniques used in dark psychology, manipulation, and NLP. Use this book as a study guide. Even if you have never used mind persuasion techniques, you'll be able to learn new ways to control your own mind and the minds of others and to use these techniques to live a successful life. Be a leader - let your power explode!
Summary
Your colleague says he agrees, but does he really, or is it only a facade? Have you ever thought you were going crazy, had your self-esteem suffer, or do you have a feeling you are being used, manipulated, or played? Do you sometimes feel uncomfortable around people and have a really hard time understanding their “real intentions”?
If you answered "Yes" to at least one of the questions above, you are absolutely not alone. Most people have real trouble recognizing false statements and differentiating fake from real emotions, even with the people close to them.
Sure, the small little lie about how awesome Grandma’s homemade pie tastes will not really hurt and might even be necessary for smooth human relationships. But lying can also have tremendous potential for harm, hurt feelings, or catastrophic business decisions.
Therefore, the skill to differentiate lies from the truth becomes critical and can be of tremendous value for anyone.
In Dark Psychology Secrets & The Art of Reading People, you’ll discover:
- The six little-known facts to instantly kick-start your understanding of why and how people manipulate (Even if you are a bit socially awkward or don’t seem to get people’s true self easily!)
- The exact formula to recognize the different stimuli that make people tick and that are founded in reason and science, not a pure “gut feeling”
- How these three ways lead to becoming a manipulator’s victim - and how to stop any tries
- Why it is not enough to only observe and how the right careful actions can bring your game on a whole other level
- How a recent study by renowned researchers show a way to identify the root cue of a lie and provides new insights into the human psyche
- Why these verbal expressions carry way more weight than you have ever thought (and why it is so hard to oversee for untrained people)
- The absolute worst three things you might be misinterpreting currently that could cause you tremendous confusion and trouble (avoid these mistakes at all costs if you want to read people correctly!)
- And much, much more!
Even if you are a complete beginner and have a hard time to naturally get the manipulation, the extensive research that went into this guide and the practical applications and exercises will instantly boost your abilities to analyze and understand deceptions and lies on a completely different level.

Bullying?
Awful narrator; Constant audible sound breaks between each line, has the gain set too high when actually reading, or didnt have a sound proofed room (Audible version)
I am learning psycology and chose this book as an elective read. Was almost immediately turned off by the approach that if you don't like something, that it is somehow harmful/someone elses fault, or a form of bullying. with that definition, this book is bullying me…
Seriously though, it is a bad read. I enjoy opposing views to mine to try and really understand the spectrum of human psycology and understanding, but this is just a way to blame others for failures that oneself should take responsibility for.
Social/political garbage.

“Negative thoughts are just that, thots”
This book is very obviously written as a for-profit as it is absolutely shallow and sound as if the writer read like 4 psychology today articles about the matter and then wrote these two(?) books. Honestly could’ve just been one book
