Summary

Your colleague says he agrees, but does he really, or is it only a facade? Have you ever thought you were going crazy, had your self-esteem suffer, or do you have a feeling you are being used, manipulated, or played? Do you sometimes feel uncomfortable around people and have a really hard time understanding their “real intentions”?

If you answered "Yes" to at least one of the questions above, you are absolutely not alone. Most people have real trouble recognizing false statements and differentiating fake from real emotions, even with the people close to them.

Sure, the small little lie about how awesome Grandma’s homemade pie tastes will not really hurt and might even be necessary for smooth human relationships. But lying can also have tremendous potential for harm, hurt feelings, or catastrophic business decisions.

Therefore, the skill to differentiate lies from the truth becomes critical and can be of tremendous value for anyone.

In Dark Psychology Secrets & The Art of Reading People, you’ll discover:

  • The six little-known facts to instantly kick-start your understanding of why and how people manipulate (Even if you are a bit socially awkward or don’t seem to get people’s true self easily!)
  • The exact formula to recognize the different stimuli that make people tick and that are founded in reason and science, not a pure “gut feeling”
  • How these three ways lead to becoming a manipulator’s victim - and how to stop any tries
  • Why it is not enough to only observe and how the right careful actions can bring your game on a whole other level
  • How a recent study by renowned researchers show a way to identify the root cue of a lie and provides new insights into the human psyche
  • Why these verbal expressions carry way more weight than you have ever thought (and why it is so hard to oversee for untrained people)
  • The absolute worst three things you might be misinterpreting currently that could cause you tremendous confusion and trouble (avoid these mistakes at all costs if you want to read people correctly!)
  • And much, much more!

Even if you are a complete beginner and have a hard time to naturally get the manipulation, the extensive research that went into this guide and the practical applications and exercises will instantly boost your abilities to analyze and understand deceptions and lies on a completely different level.

This is one awesome book.

This is one awesome book. I just wished that this was available back in 1988 before I got married to the wrong person and meeting others that practice this dark form of psychology.

Don't bother

Rubbish. Interesting title but just another self-help book that promises to change your life forever. Couldn't listen to this for 5 minutes. The bad performance killed it completely.

Awful.

A dreadful narration did nothing to enhance what seemed to me, for the 25 minutes or so I lasted with it, to be a droning repetition of the totally blithering obvious.

Content was ok

the way the book is read up is extremely boring and has no flow whatsoever.

Not impressed

Not impressed. A collection of principles gathered from all best selling books. No advice given, only blunt analysis.

Not for the experienced

This book is on a very general level. If you have previous experience with EQ/Psychology/Manipulation it might feel like a lot of obvious things wrappwd in new packaging.

Bullying?

Awful narrator; Constant audible sound breaks between each line, has the gain set too high when actually reading, or didnt have a sound proofed room (Audible version)

I am learning psycology and chose this book as an elective read. Was almost immediately turned off by the approach that if you don't like something, that it is somehow harmful/someone elses fault, or a form of bullying. with that definition, this book is bullying me…
Seriously though, it is a bad read. I enjoy opposing views to mine to try and really understand the spectrum of human psycology and understanding, but this is just a way to blame others for failures that oneself should take responsibility for.

Social/political garbage.

Can't listen for more than about a few minutes.

This is read terribly, the inflection is awkward. literally sounds like when I read to my kids. Wish I could get that credit back.

Review for DPS&AoRP

“Negative thoughts are just that, thots”

This book is very obviously written as a for-profit as it is absolutely shallow and sound as if the writer read like 4 psychology today articles about the matter and then wrote these two(?) books. Honestly could’ve just been one book
