abusive relationship with minor . dirty stupid
sickening. I do not see any masculine trades about men that needs to use his belt to imply dominance and abuse the abused in more creative ways. waste of credit and time.

I loved it.
I listened to this book within 2 days. It’s griping and leaves you wanting to know what happens next. A rollercoaster of emotions but overall quite a lovely love story.

Difficult but rewarding
Pam Godwin is one of my absolute favorite authors.
She spins me into darkness and pain but somehow manages to show me beauty in the darkest corners, and everlasting love for the most damaged characters win in the end.
Her characters are never just good or evil, they come in multiples of grey, they always have deep flaws and deep damage but the capability to be better.
We all know real life love stories between adult teacher and mistreated student teenager is unethical - but this is fantasy ...
And, it is in essence a rather sweet lovestory with a happy ending.
The narration is very good.

Romantic and exciting

The dual narration was amazing, the story is very taboo so if ur not into that then u probs won’t be into this (dark dark romance) but I loved it lol

My favorite book of all time - even better in audio 🔥🔥🔥
This book is so beautifully written. It literally grabs you on page 1 and hooks you. You won’t want to stop listening. It’s like poetry for your soul. I love taboo so this was right up my alley. Hot teacher who falls for a student, yes please! Its real, It’s heartbreaking, it’s love, it’s passion, it’s such an amazing story that you never want to end. I will be listening to it again even though I just finished it. The narrators for Emeric and Ivory were utterly PERFECT. I can’t think of anyone who would be better. Sooooooo good. I give this book 100 stars and all the recommendations. If you like taboo this is for you. It is nuclear hot and yet such a beautiful tale of two lovers that the world says shouldn’t be together. A beautiful soul deep beautiful love. Don’t think about it, just one click. NOW!

Utterly engrossing
Characters are well developed and defined from the beginning. The book is so intimate and feels so sexy that the scenes are that much more intense but Ava and Tad take it to another level- they prove that narration really is an art. Couldn’t be more satisfied with this book and the narration

I had no idea what this was even about when I started am I glad because I’ll be honest I might have put it off for a later date if I had known. I don’t say that because it has anything that bothers me in it but because I have to be in the mood for high drama and I would have just assumed this would be exactly that. Thankfully it wasn’t, well it was but not in the way I expected which is what I enjoyed so much about this book! I spent the whole book waiting for the big reveal and I’m so glad it wasn’t as BIG as I expected. Yes that is vague but I’m trying not to spoil it by explaining what I liked the most lol. This book is one you start and finish in the same day, it’s very fast and never really slowed down. The sex was hot, the story line hard and the characters were great! And here is the kicker for anyone who knows me.... it’s insta-love/lust and I didn’t even care after a couple chapters. If an author can make me feel insta-love then they have done a great job because it’s really a hard no for me normally. I can’t wait for more books on audio by the author!
The narration was great, Ava Erickson & Tad Branson were cast very well for this book!

WOW what a story!
This story was beautiful, raw and dark. I truly enjoyed watching Emeric’s protection over Ivory and I loved how real Ivory was. She was given a tough life but still managed to live her life and go for what she wanted. Their relationship is forbidden, raw and REAL. AMAZING Listen.

🎧🎧 Audio Narration was fantastic. both narrators absolutely put the perfect amount of emotion & contempt into the audio. i loved emeric’s voice & i am so glad i did this one on audio - i binged it in a day.
i don’t even know what to say other than i absolutely loved this. i went in unsure but trusting the process bc i have enjoyed other books from pam godwin & i am so glad i read this. it was so beautiful. the two of them & their stories melting together into a harmony. 🫠 just a puddle of emotions here now but it was so. damn. good. cannot recommend enough.

~~~RIVETING TABOO LOVE~~~~
This is my first Pam Godwin listen and holy shit what a can't put it down, first word to the last, it is. Definitely not for the faint of heart, but it is oh so very delicious! Each chapter is better than the last!
Bravo Ms Godwin and a huge standing ovation for Ava and Tad for really bringing these beautiful forbidden lovers to life. It doesn't get any better than a fabulous story paired with perfect narration. Thank You Audi!!!!

Intensity That Resonated
From beginning to end, the characters in Dark Notes had an intensity that resonated through the audiobook and into my soul.
The pain and suffering, the need and desire... all of it was expressed so vividly through the words and then brought to life even more realistically through the amazing narration of Ava and Tad.
The student/teacher story has been told but Pam Godwin took such a different route that you will not be disappointed in this book, there was enough drama to keep you completely raptured the entire book.

Hands down, one of the best audiobooks ever!
One of my dearest book friends has been recommending this book to me ever since we first realized we both shared a love of Pam Godwin's writing. As is the case with all things so-many-books-so-little-time, I hadn't gotten around to reading this particular forbidden romance involving a seventeen-year-old piano prodigy and the lone scholar in a renowned academy and the brand-new head of the music department ten years her senior who becomes committed to teaching her a thing or two about discipline--of her instrument and her body. Dark Notes isn't my first teacher-student romance--nor, I highly suspect, will it be my last--but it is the first that goes beyond the usual innocent flirtations and flourishing infatuations that later become intriguing when identities are further revealed. From the get-go, Ivory Westbrook and Emeric Marceaux are more than aware of the position each plays in the other's life. But that's the thing about this novel--it's more than just about the main characters being student and teacher. This is a story about finding love and passion and fighting for it regardless of the consequences; it's about love and lust and everything else in between, of letting go and ultimately discovering your truest and home. Pam Godwin's exceptional prose is matched eloquently and deliciously well by Tad Branson and Ava Erickson. These two WERE Emeric and Ivory. Dark Notes was Godwin at her best and the best I've ever heard Branson and Erickson. Five-plus stars. ♥
