Summary

Rescue might just be the death of her.

Far from home

Fiona Russell has been snatched from Earth, imprisoned, and used as slave labor, but nothing about her abduction makes sense. When she's rescued by the Grih, she realizes there's a much bigger game in play than she ever could have imagined, and she's right in the middle of it.

Far from safe

Battleship captain Hal Vakeri is chasing down pirates when he stumbles across a woman abducted from Earth. She's the second one the Grih have found in two months, and her presence is potentially explosive in the Grih's ongoing negotiations with their enemies, the Tecran. The Tecran and the Grih are on the cusp of war, and Fiona might just tip the balance.

Far from done

Fiona has had to bide her time while she's been a prisoner, pretending to be less than she is, but when the chance comes for her to forge her own destiny in the new world she's found herself in, she grabs it with both hands. After all, actions speak louder than words.

Enjoyed but too similar to book 1

I enjoyed this well written story but it is virtually a copy of book one. Strong female character stolen from Earth and rescued by the same species and works with the Class 5 AI. Christine Delaine saves the book by giving an excellent performance which makes the book an enjoyable listen. I will try book 3 as I liked the sample at the end.

Space Romance

A really fun space romance, with some interesting ideas about first contact and how aliens would view us. A little bit unrealistic about how 'compatible' humans/aliens are, lol.

Interesting sci-fi plot too.

Reader is enjoyable too.

Thoroughly enjoyed

I’d read the reviews about this being too similar to the first book, so deliberately listened to a few other books in between so it wasn’t so fresh in my mind, and although I could see what the other reviewers meant, it was different enough to keep my interest, with enough twists to keep me guessing.

I really like this narrator, she does the voices so well, I always know who is speaking, she really brings the characters to life

I very much enjoyed this story, I like the attention to detail, and the development of the characters, and the little bit of humour sprinkled throughout

Not as good as the first book

Although I still enjoyed the performance, the story was too similar to the first book, particularly the main characters and their reactions to each other.
I will probably read at least one more and hope it is not as predictable.
A shame that the enjoyment of the first book was not built on in the second

Love it

Sooo exciting fantastic fast paced story that grips, some romance but not the main focus.
I'd personally like a bit more spice but this is a miner issue to my enjoyment overall.

Damsel saves Hero in distress (again)

Well narrated, well written action drama. Fiona, earthling, abducted to interface with AI and teach him how to have a conscience; he keeps her supplied with gadgets and tech. Good sci-fi insights, no stupid, and no swearing. It seems to be a fad that feisty intelligent females have potty mouths, well not in this book, which is a lovely refreshing change. Also the romantic interest is honourable and capable of restraint, so no knickers are lost till near the end, unlike Laurann Dohner books (love'm anyway).

An enjoyable book, similar theme to Book 1, which tamps down a little of the anticipation of what the author can throw at you. Happy to get Book 3. VERY ENJOYABLE

Boring

After the first book I thought I’d like the series but the second book is a repeat of the first with character names changed. Luckily these were included with my membership I won’t be buying anymore of the series. One book was good and entertaining narrator was good needed to invest more in the characters already developed

Same story different names

Previous reviews mentioned the same, but I enjoyed the first book so much I thought I would take a chance. I am hoping the third book in the series will have a vastly different story.

A rewrite of the first book

Sadly the second book is the same story with character name changes of the first book. I was hoping for a development & continuation of the first book & was pleased to see an introduction of new characters. Then was disappointed to listen to the same story again.
