Creating open lines of communication can do wonders when it is time to discuss with your partner, and when you want to make sure that you are getting the most out of your relationship. Living a couple's life can be hard, and keeping things together can seem almost impossible in our modern and busy worlds.

In this guidebook, you will find that the communication skills and tips discussed will help your relationship become stronger.

Some of the topics discussed include:

  • Why do couples need to focus on communication?
  • Your body language and how that, along with other nonverbal communication, can influence how well communication goes with your partner.
  • How to communicate and be more empathetic with each other.
  • How to show your partner that you truly appreciate him/her.
  • How to add more intimacy with your partner and how that can strengthen your relationship.
  • How to work to develop better conversational skills.
  • What happens when a misunderstanding occurs between you and your partner (and it is something that will happen).
  • Practical exercises to try along with your partner in order to improve communication.

This audiobook also provides you with some of the best questions that you and your partner should discuss together, no matter what level of the relationship you are at.

Learn to deal with certain topics with your partner and learn to master conversation for a love that lasts.

Topics such as:

  • Opinions on health and fitness in the relationship.
  • How the other partner is going to feel about their parents and if there will be issues with boundaries and more.
  • Talking about the future and how to meet your goals.
  • Your dream job and how that can influence the future for both of you.
  • Questions about spending time together, being intimate, and about sex.
  • How to handle money together and to reconcile a spender and a saver in the same relationship
  • How the love languages can come into the relationship and can be different for each partner.
  • How to deal with communication issues that may show up in the relationship.
  • How to handle any of the disagreements and conflicts that will show up in the relationship at some point.
  • Talking about children, how many to have, and the best way to parent your children.
  • How to bring up and talk about marriage to help move the relationship into another level (if you haven’t reached there yet).

Building up good communication with your partner is critical if you want to make sure that you have a strong relationship where both of you feel valued and important.

Starts off ok but became religious

the book has lots of useful information and has helped me in a few areas. However, the author starts mentioning GOD and that GOD must be an important part in any relationship and must be prayed to for the sake of the relationship. It sounds almost like the relationship will only survive thanks to the will of GOD. Does that mean that, as atheists, my Girlfriend and I can never have a loving, happy relationship?
Therefore I've rated it 2 stars overall. If you do believe in GOD and that he/she has a personal interest in your relationship, then you'd probably like this book more than I did.

I discover this book enlightening

I highlighted something on almost every lesson. The "12-day Communication Challenge" is a bonus and when you practice it, your communication effectiveness will improve dramatically.

Simple, concise and useful

I enjoyed this book, as I’ve realized I don’t communicate as well as I should. The book gets right to the point without stretching it out into a lengthy book, so I appreciate that! As an atheist, I didn’t like the section about God, it seemed unnecessary, or would suggest mentioning that as an optional consideration. The bonus questions were also a nice addition.

it was good until 3/4 of the way through chapter 7

most of this was great until the book just starts hammering away at the necessity for God to be in your relationship... then it gets pretty disgusting

Really?!

It was going pretty good until you got religion involved. This is supposed to be a book with helpful advice. You lost me here, deleting. Once you involve any god or any devil you get rid of personal responsibility. It does not work. The plethora of failed Christian marriages and problems within are more than enough proof. What were you thinking adding this in your book. Oh dear me.

Great tools and easy to apply

I liked the contents explained in a simple way how to apply the empathetic listening to the daily communication. Many times we wish others - spouse, teenage kid, could change their way to talk, or have better listening.

This was a eye opening exposition of what it mean

It not only discussed the issues of the one not listening but finally an audiobook that hit on the topic often overlooked.. but the speaker has far more control over whether or not his words will. E understood or considered.

This book is absolutely the best one.

As I listened to the audiobook it was like listening to my spouse telling me I need better listening skills. I hope to be consistent in applying the skills I learned so I can have better relationships.
