Summary
The eighth novella in Quinn's globally beloved and best-selling Bridgerton family series, set in Regency times and now a series created by Shondaland for Netflix. Finally, this is Gregory's story....
Unlike most men of his acquaintance, Gregory Bridgerton is a firm believer in true love. He'd have to be an idiot not to be: all seven of his siblings are happily married. Gregory figures he is just biding his time until the right woman comes along. And so when he sees Hermione Watson, he knows with every fibre of his being that she is meant to be his.
But through Hermione's closest - and slightly less beautiful - friend, Lucy Abernathy, he finds out that Hermione is desperately in love with another man. Sadly, by the time Gregory figures out the right girl is actually the wrong girl, and the right girl was Lucy all along, it's too late. Lucy is to marry another! Now - on the way to the wedding - Gregory must figure out how to thwart the nuptials and convince Lucy that she was always meant to be his....
Critic reviews
"Light, pacy and full of feisty heroines." (Guardian on the Bridgerton series)
"Julia Quinn's Bridgerton books take all of the classic tropes we know and love...and gives them a thoroughly modern twist. I can't focus on anything else." (Stylist)

Lucy...Lucy...Lucy
I liked the book and it wad less predictable than others but a large percentage of the book was just Gregory saying 'Lucy' over and over again. Wore a little thin.

Not as good as the rest
Preferred the rest of the books to this one the story was a bit too far fetched and was just swept under the carpet for the end, the 2nd epilogues were quite depressing as well worth a listen to find out what happened but not my favourite

Witty and Delightful Audiobook
Another perfect Bridgerton story from the great Julia Quinn. Gregory is the only Bridgerton sibling to yet find his match, and his story to romantic success is as brilliant, witty and gripping as all the previous audiobooks in the Bridgerton series.
Lady Lucinda Abernathy is not the object of Gregory's affection, no that would be her dearest friend Hermione Watson. Gregory, however, hopes Lucy will be able to help him win Hermione's heart. Gregory begins to realise that Lucy is more than just a best friend. She is witty, clever and actually they do have alot in common. Before long, Gregory's affection now lies with Lucy, but she is set to marry another.
This is a skillfully written story, I was on the edge of my seat throughout, wondering how on earth this story would end. What would the members of the Ton have to say about all the goings on in this book!!
I found this to be an amazing and joyful audiobook. The characters were entertaining, engaging and likeable. I was completely smitten with the chemistry between the two main characters, and I always find Rosalyn Landor's narration perfect. She has an amazing way, of voicing many different characters. I would absolutely recommend to lovers of regency romance.

I loved this book, I wished there was a little bit more to take away from the second epilogue. But overall it was most definitely very thrilling book.

Very unusual storyline
I thought this was going to follow the other tales in the series but it didn't! The suspense lasted right to the end! Very good and an enjoyable listen and unlike some of the earlier books, only 1 sex scene! In story line this one is more "Georgette Heyer" like than the rest of those in the series

Questions finally answered on 19th century marriag
Great read finally answered about 19th century marriages where an heir was essential but the sexual preferences of some partners weren't suited to each other. It's taken a long time for gay marriages to be recognised not really until this century 200 years later. I don't think that many partners had the luxury of a true love match in the upper classes when there was property and money concerned. Congratulations Julia Quinn

Well narrated
As always superbly narrated by Rosalyn Landor, I believe the audiobooks are much better than reading as some of the writing is quite repetitive (He ground out etc)
