One month. Two rivals. A plot twist they didn't see coming....
Nora is a cut-throat literary agent at the top of her game. Her whole life is books.
Charlie is an editor with a gift for creating best sellers. And he's Nora's work nemesis.
Nora has been through enough break-ups to know she's the woman men date before they find their happy-ever-after. That's why Nora's sister has persuaded her to swap her desk in the city for a month's holiday in Sunshine Falls, North Carolina. It's a small town straight out of a romance novel, but instead of meeting sexy lumberjacks, handsome doctors or cute bartenders, Nora keeps bumping into...Charlie.
She's no heroine. He's no hero. So can they take a page out of an entirely different book?
Set over one sizzling August, Book Lovers is the new chemistry-filled 'rivals to lovers' rom-com from New York Times number one best seller Emily Henry.

Far too much narration
It's an ok book. The story was a bit lack lustre and there was far far too much narration from Nora. Very slow moving and nothing really happens. Still, it's worth a listen if you want something that you can easily multi task to.

Warm and witty.
Another great book by Emily Henry. She has great style and an original approach to modern romance.
When Charlie Lastro an editor and Nora Stevens an agent meet for the first time it's not under the best of circumstances and things do not go well. It's a bad time for both and they remain on a professional footing which leads to misinterpretation.
Nora is a consummate professional and she and her sister who are polar opposites live, like Charlie ( also a consummate professional) in NYC. When Libby, the sister asks Nora to go on vacation to Sunshine Falls - the place in the book she and Charlie disagreed about -and with a to do list to take them out of their comfort zone it's the last thing Nora wants to do; but she has lived her life looking after her sister and cannot let her down. She meets the last person on earth she would expect to see in Sunshine Falls.
What follows is a witty, sometimes laugh out loud story that is at the same time heart wrenching. I loved it.

Not a fan!
Really not a fan of these books. They’re so super chiche and predictable! May be good for a teen ?!

A fluffy story
A great fun read with good banter for the MFC/MMC and a sweet romance build. Alongside a cracking sibling subplot. Sweet but nothing particularly epic (hence 4 stars not 5). Narration brilliant; Julie Whelan always a winner 5/5.

an ode to a small town romance
I loved this book, the characters (especially Charlie), the small town vibe, the angst between the main characters. Narration by Julia Whelan made the book even better!

EmHen & Julia Whelan - a match made in heaven
I love Emily's writing and story telling. She has a way of emotionally wrecking me with all her stories
I love the rivals slash dislike to lovers and the angst that it brought to the story
The main male character, Charlie has a way with words, he had me melting it was so cute and gave me all the feels
I loved the style of the epilogue that we just got snippets of everyone's life and little updates on them without it feeling dragged out or too quick it wasn't satisfying
I love Julia's narrations style and the range she has - it really drags me into the story and the whole universe

Don’t bother
There was no real story to this book. Very boring read. The book didn’t provoke any emotion or desire to see what happens in the next chapter. Very dull writing
