Summary
Action. Suspense. Mystery. This thriller keeps you listening all the way to the startling ending.
Rookie Reece Cannon is driving down an old-town road, wishing for some action on another uneventful patrol. Then, she meets a woman with a bold claim. You know what they say about being careful what you wish for. Now, Reece has to see this through.
Jessie Mistri’s failing relationship finally ended after her boyfriend never returned home after a fight. Did he angrily leave, or is foul play involved?
Months later, Jessie’s swept off her feet, and when Mr. Perfect proposes, she can’t say no. But when she catches him in a lie that leads back to her missing ex, what else will she find?
Reece races to find the truth and bring the liars to justice. Caught in a web of deceit, she has to stay one step ahead of the double agents, the abductors, and the man who will stop at nothing to shut her down. There’s every reason to fail.
Ill-equipped and unprepared, can Reece unearth the truth? Can Reece stay alive long enough to decipher the clues, find a killer, and catch the real criminal mastermind?

Review
Even though it’s a small Novel , it’s not little in content . I got to know the lead characters and warmed to them very quickly . I liked the plot and I liked that it didn’t feel rushed , and the conclusion was edge of the seat thrilling. I could envisage the story as though I was watching it on a screen . My favourite characters were Shannahan and of course Reece , I would really like to carry on listening to other novels with these strong characters in them as they have great chemistry and a work ethic together to build an even deeper bond .

Loved it!
This was a perfect story to keep me entertained on my daily walks. It was suspenseful and the characters were colorfully crafted and engaging. The story clipped along right to the pace of my walking LOL! It added a layer of interest for me to know that the author was the one reading it aloud. I’m getting the next book right now! Thank you - it was fun!

Loved it!
This was a first for me by this author. I thought this was a great beginning to the Reece Cannon series! The banter between the characters, the mystery and action kept me wanting more. Can’t wait to see more from this author.
Paul Knox did well with the narration.

Needs to be longer
I wouldn’t mind this book being a little bit longer. Good characters and a good story

Great start to a series
Great start to a new series...loved the main characters and the fast pace of the book. Narration is pretty good given it was done by the author-impressive in my opinion.

Blatant Lies Indeed
I received a free copy of this book for an honest review, but I didn't let that influence my review in any way.
Enjoyed this story! I can't imagine finding out the man I loved was not the man I thought I knew. I can't wait to check out future books in this series, and by this author.

Authors should narrate their books more often
Usually the author and narrator are two different people, but for this story, the author is the narrator. As the person who wrote the story, the narrator was able to convey the correct excitement and feelings to the story. For once, my hour-long drive each way to and from work felt like Meer minutes.
