Summary

Secrets…lies…and more secrets. From his boyhood in Washington, DC, through his Ivy League education and subsequent career, secrets and lies are always at the center of Timothy’s life.

In Best Man, Timothy tells the story of his life as a series of betrayals. He savors his perfidy, becoming a connoisseur of deceit. His nuanced approach to secrets and lies provides the scaffolding on which he maintains a life of duplicity.

Timothy’s work in international trade leads to his discreet service for the government, and the combination allows him to use his penchant for treachery as the basis of a successful career. Deception is his constant, but the listener must answer the underlying question. Who has been betrayed? And by whom?
