Summary
Fifteen-year old Morganna runs away from an abusive home to search for her blood father, a man she’s never met. Fearful she’ll be recognized by locals, she disguises herself as a boy.
Hitching a ride from a fisherman, Morganna crosses the Bristol Channel to Goldcliff, Wales, where she hopes to find her father. She is astounded when the fisherman divulges her father is a famous Welsh privateer, the fearsome Captain Henry Blackwell.
Morganna, now renaming herself August Raven, finds the captain, quite by accident, and convinces him to let her sail the high seas back to Jamaica and fight as one of his pirates in the Caribbean. She withholds from revealing her true identity...or the fact she’s a girl.
She proves to be an adept crewman, fighting and plundering alongside her brother pirates.
But how will she confess who she really is to her father? And will he accept her?

RRRRRRR
Morgana "August Raven" escapes an abusive step-father to make a journey to find her birth-father. Turns out, he's the famous Captain Henry Blackwell, a "pirate" for the British government. Disguised as a boy, August Raven, sails to Jamaica on her father's ship doing very well on her maiden voyage. When the good Captain finds out he has a daughter, he moves to set things right. Overall, a short, sweet listen/read.
