About this listen

Coming of age is hard enough when you don't have to face monsters....

When your family ends up stranded in a magical world, you don't have much choice.

Jackson's class as an Ironwood Monk puts him right in the front line. He gets stronger the more he gets hit and can pass that on to the rest of the team. That is if he can get his mom to actually let him fight.

No one, least of all Jackson, fully understands the importance he holds for his family's future or that of all Talos. He will have to navigate challenges both in dungeons and the halls of power if he is to find a new home.

The next LitRPG series from the Amazon best-selling author of Life in Exile, Sean Oswald, is here. It’s perfect for fans of Dakota Krout, Luke Chmilenko, and Troy Osgood.

About the series: This LitRPG is set in the world of Eloria, which features character sheets, stats, spell descriptions, loot drops, and XP but is not in a game. It is set in the same universe as Sean Oswald's best-selling Life in Exile series but can be listened to alone as its own story arc.

Annoyed with the author

Really loved the life in exile series and spent a year wondering if there would be another book to continue the story. Imagine my "surprise" when i noticed the story had continued, just under a different series title....

The story is great, although the focus is now squarely on the children rather than the parents, however I feel like the balance is slightly off like there could have been a few chapters here or there looking in on what the other family members were getting up to.
either way I enjoyed the books and cant wait for the next one.

it was good but...

Whilst it is enjoyable and I will listen to the next in the series, I feel like the book jumps around to much in term pov of characters. this left me feeling like Jackson was under developed in this book. I hope the next books focus on the characters more focused.

Jumps perspective way too much

As stated above, the perspective changes way too much. It jumps between, like, 8 different characters constantly. It would have been better if it just stuck with the young guy perspective mainly, with maybe one or two side perspectives like the Orc and such.
