Summary

A werewolf, an owl shifter, and a scientist walk into a bar...

Sam

I was born in a lab, fostered out to humans, then tortured in a cage. Fate allowed me to escape, and I know why.

To balance the scales of justice. Right the misdeeds of the harvesters.

Nothing matters but taking down the man who made me what I am: A monster driven by revenge, whatever the cost.

Then I meet Layne. She thinks I’m a hero.

But she doesn’t understand...if I don’t follow this darkness to its end, it will consume me.

Layne

I’ve spent my life in the lab, researching the cure for the disease that killed my mom. No late nights out, no dates, definitely no boyfriend.

Then Sam breaks into my lab, steals my research, and kidnaps me. He’s damaged. Crazy. And definitely not human.

He and his friends are on a mission to stop the company that’s been torturing shifters, and now I’m a part of it.

Sam promises to protect me. And when he touches me, I feel reborn. But he’s hellbent on revenge. He won’t give it up.

Not even for me.

This series is getting better and better

I was first hesitant reading this book as the previous showings of Sam didn't show him as a sympathetic character, but because I wanted to read the series in the order they came out in I had to bite the bullet, and god am I glad I did. Sam has gone from my least favourite character to my most loved one. Again this book is a testament to the great writing skills of the two authors and is filled with action, suspense, passion and lots of humour next to a lot of feelings
The narrator of this audiobook, Benjamin Sands, again does a wonderful job of bringing all the characters to life.

So much emotion packaged up in this story

Wow previously introduced to Sam here we learn how he ended up on that mountainside lost to his wolf were he was discovered by Jackson in book 1. Should advise be prepared for a great deal of emotional turmoil as we learn how it is he ended up in that situation, his fight for retribution and the one person who may just save him if revenge does steal him away.

A rollercoaster of adventure

Aside from the love story here, the adventure of Sam and Layne in search of the evil company is also very interesting. I love every scene and of course, I am also happy with Sam and Layne’s love story.

Sam and Layne are meant to be

I love this paranormal romance between Sam and Layne. Although Layne is hesitant about Sam, Layne still tried her best to make what they have work. Sam will not stop at any cost. He will revenge!

A great werewolf series

All the books in this series are great but this one is breath taking! I love every scene. Sam is so hot and Layne is a strong and wonderful woman. Layne must remember that Sam will not stop unless he catches the men who hurt him. No one can stop him.

With all of their obstacles, will Layne and Sam be able to find and accept love?

Alpha’s Obsession is the fifth book in the Bad Boy Alphas Series. Sam feels broken, his only goal is to find and kill the man and operation who tortured him. This is how he meets Layne. She’s a doctor with pure intentions, he kidnaps her, and somehow they find a bond that starts to connect them. But with revenge in his heart, her health declining, and a corporation after them all, will they be able to find and accept love?

Wow, this book was fantastic! I loved both Sam and Layne and I loved their interactions together. Sam had such a hard life and my heart just ached with his need for revenge. Layne was driven, pragmatic, and cared so deeply. I love how she brought sunshine to Sam’s darkness and I loved how well they fought together. The ending - holy smokes, the ending was action packed, life altering, and I can’t wait to see some of the ramifications for the future books in the series! Mr. Sands did an amazing job narrating this book, bringing the characters to life, helping me feel even more for both Layne and Sam! All together, Ms. Lee, Ms. Rose, and Mr. Sands really just took me away into this edgy world of possessive shifters, danger, and most of all, finding love.

Alpha's Obsession: An MC Werewolf Romance

I love this series. Here we learn about Sam's story. On his infiltration into one of the centers that have been taking shifters, he meets the head scientist, Layne. He starts to blow up the lab after taking the data. She's not happy and tries to escape him. Sam rescues her and they go into hiding. Then the attraction between them starts to build. Then Layne tells Sam something that frightens him as well as saddens him. But Sam is focused on taking down the lab. Too many secrets too many regrets.
Benjamin Sands is a fantastic narrator and brings each of the characters to live.

I've been looking forward to Sam's story and wasn't disappointed. I enjoyed the emotional struggle that went on for both of them in regards to thier future, very well written. Loved how everything turns out.

Wish this story had dual narration

Benjamin Sands did a great job narrating as the hero, Sam, but the author wrote this as a dual POV novel. So, Laine, the heroine, needed a female voice.

Overall, this was a credit worthy story.

Shifter

Alpha's Obsession is a part of Renee Rose and Lee Savino's series of shifter stories. Some are wolves, some bears, and even some vampires, these books encompass the best parts of paranormal romance. I read this book a few months ago, after listening to it, I can say I think the narrator did a pretty good job.

Needs a different narrator

I would have enjoyed this book SO much more with a different narrator. The only thing I didn't like about the book was the predictable ending.
