Summary

Have You Been Chosen?

Sawyer Smith is preparing to take on the world, and with his graduate degree only days away, he’s hoping to convince his gorgeous best friend and neighbor to come along for the ride. There’s only one problem; Draco has a secret, a big scaly secret, and it’s about to change Sawyer’s life forever.

When three mysterious men move into the new mansion across the street, Sawyer is plunged into a fantastical world he never knew existed. Discovering that Draco is a dragon shifter and a guardian of The Chosen One - a creature sent by the Goddess to restore the realm’s broken magic - is only the tip of the paranormal iceberg.

Being drawn into this strange new world is challenging enough, but then Sawyer finds himself attracted to all The Chosen One’s guardians: not only Draco, but also quiet and fierce vampire Andvari, sweet mage Henry, and ruthlessly smart griffin Eduard.

And, oh yeah, it turns out not all magical creatures are friendly. Forces aligned against The Chosen One are out to destroy the guardians so the prophecy can never be fulfilled.

The biggest problem of all, though, is that once The Chosen One is found, Sawyer will have to return to his boring human life...alone.

But in the paranormal world, there are no half measures. As danger mounts, Sawyer must choose between walking away from the men he’s grown to care for or risking it all for a chance at a future together.

Enjoying this series

I really enjoyed the prequel to this series and Michael Dean's performance there and I enjoyed this first official entry in the series just as much. Michael Dean continues to display his grasp of these characters and their differing personalities. He is great with the steamy parts as well as the descriptive passages and the everyday interactions of the characters. Sawyer was an interesting character and I looked forward to finding out what would happen to him after grad school. What happens to him and to his friend Draco is nothing he could have expected. His everyday, human world is about to get upended by dragon shifters, mages, vampires, griffins and all kinds of paranormal creatures both good and evil. There is a major fight to protect the Chosen One and save the magic realm and Sawyer is drawn into that fight thanks to his attraction to Draco, Andvari, Eduard and Henry. The MMMM relationship was well done as was the suspense and world building.

Chosen One

Sawyer is so very close to getting his graduate degree that he can almost touch it. He has Pearl, his faithful and well loved dog, and Draco. The neighbor that he has crushed on for so long. Then one night that started off as so many other nights took a drastic turn that he never saw coming when someone shows up at the new house across the street. Henry, Andvari, and Eduard are startled to see Draco with Sawyer. What happens next causes beliefs that have been around for so long that no one really knows when it started to shift.

HOT!

I was a little disappointed by the prequel to this series, but held out hope that the series itself would be better. Boy, was I right to hope! Much more action here, and much less saccharine sweet. It DOES partly read as a manifest to the healing powers of sex, but I'm not complaining when those scenes are as hot as they are... Next book!

great start to a series

I really enjoyed the start of this poly/harem romance, which I am a fan of and the audio gave it extra life.

it's a classic newbie into the world which is how we learn about everything, along with the 'chosen one' troupe if done slightly different but I overall enjoyed the way the romance between the five main characters get started even if it is insta-love

All or Nothing

I went into this listen without expectations as I’ve been let down with some paranormal series lately. I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. I’m enjoying all of the characters, the dynamics, and the world-building. The narration is phenomenal. I can’t wait to start the next book!

An awesome start to the series

You can start the series with this book, but the prequel is such a sweet story and also provides background information on some of the characters in the series that I recommend listening to "Sweet Nothings" first.
I love Macy Blake's wonderful writing style, which is easy to read, details the fantasy world, and immerses the reader in the world of Chosen One after the first chapter.

Sawyer is just about finished with graduate school. Little does he know that with his new neighbors moving into the huge house next door, there will be many changes. The world he has known until now will be turned upside down. And even his best friend Draco is not who he pretended to be to Sawyer.
I really enjoyed this story. The world building was brilliant and the character development thrilled me. Sawyer's new neighbor is Henry, a seer in the magical world. He has brought two guardians with him to protect him. Then it also turns out that Draco is also part of that magical world.
I really liked the protagonists, who all have different characteristics. And yes, there is a lot of sex, significantly more than in the prequel and the scenes are really hot.
The story is entertaining, there is humorous and also funny dialogue, then there is suspense, action and drama and of course some mystical but also romantic moments.

Michael Dean is a brilliant narrator. He makes a good story even better by believably giving each character their own personality with their own voice. He also did a great job of portraying the emotions. As a listener, you could experience all those emotions. It was an absolute pleasure to listen to Michael Dean.
And now I'm already looking forward to the next part of the series.

I requested a free copy of the audiobook and this is my honest opinion that I am volunteering

Heat, heat and more heat for the mates.

As always Michael Dean did and outstandig job in giving voice to all the characters. While listening to this volume I noticed extra how hot and heavy and high heat this book actually is. Start of their relationship is very physical. This is the setup the further introduction to the Chosen one and his mates/ protectors.
Narration 5* Story 4,5 Overall 5*

Brilliantly Fascinating! Amazing Story & Listen🎧

Macy Blake continues to wow me with another amazing novel set in her “Chosen One” series, I fell in love with this fascinating world she created in “Sweet Nothings”, the prequel to the series, if you haven’t read or listened to it yet I highly recommend you do, it is a brilliant story and it gives you the back story to one of the lead characters of this book. That said, if you have not gotten to it yet, no worries, everything you need to know is in the descriptive details and it will not feel like anything is missing. This book starts with meeting Sawyer Smith and his best friend Draco, Sawyer is just about finished with graduate school and getting ready for the next phase of his life and he could never imagine the direction his life turns after his new neighbors, the ones who built a huge house he and Draco dubbed a McMansion, came in to their life. Draco has been hiding something from Sawyer, a big something that he is a dragon shifter and part of a world Sawyer knows nothing about. When they go to meet the new neighbors, Draco knew they were members of his world, a supernatural and paranormal world and so did they. Happy go lucky Henry welcomes them with open arms, but his two guardians are not as welcoming though. Henry is a magical being and a seer, which is rare in their world and makes him target to those of his world, so he has two guardians looking out for him, Eduard and Andvari, each from another part of the paranormal world and each having their own unique supernatural power. This book lays the foundation for the rest of the series and what is to come, the world building and character development is absolutely phenomenal and will continue throughout the series. We learn more about the guardians and the chosen one, whose identity is revealed. Macy Blake created something very special here, and I enjoyed every minute and every word of this book, it is a brilliantly plotted story that has a perfect balance of drama, humorous and witty dialogue to lighten up the heavier moments, some mystery, action, thrilling and suspenseful moments, some heartfelt emotions and a smoking hot romance, harem style. Macy Blake, thank you for another wonderfully entertaining story.

🎧📚🎧 And for the wonderful narration, Michael Dean continues to deliver an outstanding performance, bringing these characters and their story to life. He has a complete understanding of the characters he portrays, giving each a voice that suits that character’s persona and is believable in every role he played. He set the perfect tone for the story, captures all the characters’ emotions and projects them into his performance and had you feeling every single one. Dean is an entertaining storyteller and a versatile voice artist, his narration enhances an already brilliant story to another level. Thank you for another amazing listen, it is always a pleasure to listen to your work.

Where will this go next?

I came into this series blind – knowing nothing. The prequel took me through quite a ride, but I thought I knew who the main characters were going to be. I was wrong. This book begins with Sawyer. He hangs out with his best friend Draco as they’ve watched a mansion being built across the street. They’re curious enough to take over a housewarming present.

Sawyer’s world tilts. He meets Andvari, Eduard, and Henry. Oh yeah, THAT Henry. I was thrilled to see him back.

Soon Sawyer discovers the men’s secrets. Henry is a mage, Andvari is a vampire, Eduard is a griffin and, oh, yeah, his best friend is a dragon shifter. Sawyer eventually learns to deal with this, even as his attraction towards each man grows. To be clear, this is a menage/harem book. And I loved it.

But The Chosen One has eight guardians and we’ve only met four. Guess I’ll have to keep going in the series to find out what happens next.

Michael Dean narrates the series and I adore him, so I think he’s a great choice. Off to Book 2.

Title - All Or Nothing (The Chosen One #1)
Author - Macy Blake
Genre - MM Romance, Paranormal
Published - July 2018
Pages - 220

Sawyer Smith is days away from getting his graduate degree and he's ready to take on the world, all he has to do is convince his best friend Draco to come with him. There's just one problem, Draco is hiding a huge secret. When three mysterious men move in over the road, Sawyers's life changes forever. Thrown into a world of shifters and chosen ones. Things get even more complicated when Sawyer finds himself attracted not only to his best friend but to all the chosen one's guardians. As the danger grows Sawyer has a choice to make, guard his heart against the men he's fallen in love with or give in and risk everything.

Well, I thought the first book was good, but this one was even better. I loved Henry in the first book and was so glad to see him get his own book. I loved all the characters in this book, I thought they were all absolutely perfect and they fit so well together. This book was so dam freaking hot too. Like, take a cold shower after you've read it hot.

The plot was fast-paced, and interesting, keeping me hooked and desperate to read/listen to the next one. I cannot wait to get into the rest of the series and the other books connected to this series. I found the book to be well written, easy to follow and it flowed really well.

I enjoy this author's writing style and have quickly become a huge fan of this author.
