Summary
They’ve exterminated an entire bloodline, purging the world of the only creatures vampires dread. Or so they think.
Chloe used to study hard and do everything right to pave a bright future, but children sometimes have to pay for their parents’ sins, and Chloe’s tab is pretty steep. At 26, when a series of attacks forces her to seek refuge in the notorious Institute of Paranormal Studies, Chloe sees it as a second chance to achieve her goals. She believes she has nothing to lose. She couldn’t be more mistaken.
Levi has had centuries to observe the mortals and immortals of this world. He knows what the sassy woman who entered his domain is at first glance. A relic of the old days...so ancient that even an elder lord descended from the first immortals has reason to fear her.
He should slit her throat while he has the chance.
He should.
After Darkness Falls is one in a series of stand-alone paranormal romance novels.

flat
it took me a while to get into this book, the womans voice sounds so auto tuned and robot like. it is a good storyline but there isn't a lot of character development, there could have been moments of strong character development but I felt like parts were just skimmed over or not needed. her relationship with Levi just feel forced an unnatural, I didn't really feel any chemistry between them, to be honest they hardly even spoke. the storyline was predictable, but that's okay if it's executed well, I wouldn't recommend this to anyone, it was really flat and anticlimactic. it was an okay story, maybe good for a 13 year old if you take the sex scene out which wasn't really that sexual anyway. it just seemed really random.

great read
loved this book so much I have read it twice. the only off putting part about listening is that there are two different people reading and to be fair the woman is more than capable of reading this book by herself. love the twist and turns of the book and is a great start to the series.

*truly entertaining*
Sage has it people! The "it" factor readers hunger for. Staying within tried and true parameters, May wrote a paranormal story of a woman living in constant fear, dreaming of a better tomorrow. With limited resources, her options were nonexistent, until her employer decided to sponsor her and fulfill her dreams of attending Europes paranormal academy. With a semi-unified diversity of students and faculty, the academy is everything Chloe hoped for until Vampire royalty suspects she's their doom. The story is full of wit, charm, sexual tension and fascinating bloodlines! I'm definitely moving on to book two.

After Darkness Falls
Loved this story! It was so different from other vampire stories and loved the characters. I noticed book 2 is about Bash. I'm kind of sad because I want more Chloe and Levi!
Loved the narration! Lucy Rivers is one of my favorite narrators

After Darkness Falls
this book was really good. Can't wait to start the next one. it has a really good story line, full of unexpected adventures, a lost powerful family line, they thought they got rid of. this is a must read. the narrator did an awesome job too 👏😀.

Confused by naming 2 narrators.
Wish Aiden Snow had narrated. Lucy Rivers did a great job of it alone though. :)

Couldn’t get into it
The narrator has absolutely no emotion in her voice. The book itself is way too "innocent" for my linking.
