Story
“Mr Darcy, I am eager to hear your explanation for the fact that quite a few people believe we are engaged.” It starts with a bit of well-meant advice. Colonel Fitzwilliam suggests to his cousin Darcy that, before he proposes to Elizabeth Bennet in Kent, perhaps he ought to discuss his plans with their families first. What neither man could have predicted however was that Lord Matlock would write the news to his sister, or that Viscount Saye would overhear and tell his friends, or that his friends might slip a little and let their friends know as well.

Summary
The moment he saw her at the assembly in Meryton, he knew he loved her.
When Fitzwilliam Darcy meets Elizabeth bennet in the fateful autumn of 1811, their mutual infatuation is immediate and undeniable. Within months, they are married and spend a blissful winter at Pemberley, falling more deeply in love with each other than either might have imagined possible. But spring in London proves more challenging to them. Accident and artifice join to devastating effect for the young couple, destroying their felicity and creating an outcome neither might have imagined.
Two years later, happenstance reunites them. Sorrow and anger have built walls between them but the love they once shared still remains. Will it be enough to conquer the sins of the past? Is the love they still hold within them strong enough to prevail over the anger and mistrust that tore them apart?

Brilliant
Enjoyed this audible book immensely. Well written, well read, at times quite disturbing and I had fear it was not going to end well. Resisted the temptation to go to the end to make sure I would like the ending, glad I didn't but spent hours listening to the book when I should have been doing other things. I am not going to give away any of the story here it is different to the norm but the characters are the same and their personalities the same well worth the read, I will no doubt go back to this book a number of times. Thank you!

Darcy ever the high handed.....
Intriguing storyline, recognisable protagonists and well loved Austen sentences. But Darcy, such totally obnoxious unforgivable behaviour. How could she, Elizabeth, so settled and comfortably situated. It was such a ‘scream out loud’ moment . How could she!

5 Tissue Rating
From reading other stories by Ms. D’Orazio I thought this might be a good story, further enhanced by the very talented Stevie Zimmerman.
Even knowing that, I was not prepared for how this would run the full gambit of emotions. My heart strings were pulled in all sorts of directions for Darcy and Lizzy. I loved seeing that they fell in love without all of the issues in the prior stories I’ve listened to, but once the plot thickened I was angry and down right disgusted at the villain. We’ve seen misbehavior by this one in other stories, but they were on top of their game here.
**minor spoiler ahead**
Darcy and Lizzy then sink into a mutual but silent despair, due to Darcy’s fear and jealousy, that tears their marriage apart.
Because of the customs of those days, Lizzy had no recourse but to do whatever Darcy told her and she is left confused, afraid and abandoned, yes abandoned!
Before this story ends we see the lives of the full cast unfold, with a few additions for a well rounded tale. Best addition is Richard’s older brother, Lord Saey. He adds a touch of humor to even the most serious scene to provide the perfect balance.
This one is staying in my library and moving to the top of my favorites to be listened to again and again.
I am so very thankful that Ms. Zimmerman was chosen to narrate. She is always pitch perfect and having her bring this tale to life makes it even better. There are a few scenes in fact that make me wonder if she got a Grammy or Audie Win / Nomination. She goes beyond “narration” to becoming Lizzy in one very emotional scene. Powerful performance!

Love and Forgiveness
This was an excellent book with an excellent narration!
Wow! This author has such a talent for writing stories that engage you and connect with every fiber of your being! She is an absolute favorite of mine and this story was no exception and lived up to my every expectation. This is not an easy read (or listen) and certainly not for the faint of heart because you will feel things, many many things throughout the course of this book and you will feel them deeply. Romance, laughter, fear, disappointment, tears, anger, despair, hope, forgiveness, second chances. These are things I experienced many times over during the course of this story. This is a long journey where after an immediate and deep attraction and attachment, two people who have fallen in love now have to learn that it takes more than romance and love to have a solid and lasting union. These lessons are hard learned and come at a high cost. Disastrous mistakes are made and damage is done that cannot be easily repaired. Only time, reflection, and a great deal of courage can finally lead to understanding, healing and new beginnings. I've often heard that anything worth having, you have to work for and this rings true in this story. A solid foundation is finally built, one heavy brick at a time, but in the end, what began as a love at first sight whirlwind romance is finally cultivated into a firm and abiding relationship with not only the love, but the respect, trust and confidence to stand the test of time!

Wow!!!!!
I am agog with this quite evocative dramatic tale of love, hate, betrayal and forgiveness. Elizabeth is so formidable in this story. If put in the same position, I do not think would have been able to endure half as much. With so much to overcome, I was genuinely astonished but quite agreeably so that ODC was able to get their HEA.

Liked, hated, loved.
This Lizzie is not Jane Austen's Lizzie; at least not at first. But she does gain strength and spirit through her difficult journey in this story, while Darcy is humbled and becomes more human. Overall, it is an emotional taleKoon of a marriage reconciled, and I enjoyed the narration.
