Summary
What Lilliana Marsden wants - she gets. The thing she believes she desires most is to live in Charleston on a plantation. Her problem? Parents who refuse to listen to her. Lily decides to make her wishes come true and who better than a handsome American ship captain to help her.
Randall Collins finds Lilliana bewitching and quickly falls under her spell. When she asks if he can take her with him on his next voyage he finds himself agreeing - for a tiny fee. A kiss as payment and he'll take her anywhere she wants.
As they set sail sparks fly between them. Will Lily find something more desirable than owning a plantation and can Rand convince her he's the better choice?

Good Listen
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
Yes. It wasnt a long book but I enjoyed the time spent listening to it.
Which scene was your favorite?
When Lily was trying to get Rand to deflower her and he kept saying no..
If this book were a movie would you go see it?
Sure I like historical movies.
Any additional comments?
I am not really a fan of historical romance books but I had an opportunity to review this audio book so I listened to something a little outside of the box for me. The story was really good. The dynamic of a historical romance is a little different than a contemporary but I really liked this story. Rand was a good guy and I like how he wanted to take care of Lily. For her part and especially in that time Lily was a headstrong woman and knew what she wanted. I liked how Rand rebuked her efforts for her to bed him. I also liked how the relationship between the two of them progressed and what happened when her family found out. This was a short listen but it was enjoyable and I really liked the job the narrator did also.

I listened to this book at 1.50x
Spoiled Lilly want to live on her plantation in Charleston and not with her parents in France. And ofcourse she gets what she wants. Befriending a captain of a sailing vessel she talks him into taking her with him to the states.
This was a good ez listen.
To tell the truth this is the first Historical fiction seriers that I have listened too. AND my first time listening to Author DAWN BROWER.
Not sure if its really for me, but I am going to listen to the rest of the series.
If you like Historical fiction you'll probably like it. I just have to listen to more to find out if its really for me.
At speed 1.50x the vocal artist did a really good job.

A few surprises, filled with passion, growing
The author brings the follow up on book1 where Lilly father and mother got together. Now many years later their daughter is all grown up and wanting to make a life of her own. She wants to live on the land they own in America, her parents want her to settle down and get married living near them. She has no plans to marry but would be interested in finding out what passion is all about with the right person. She decides she is going to get on a ship and sail there without her family knowing about it. First she must find a ship, one look at a tall dark handsome man and she find way more than a ship but the passion she is longing for. Now to get Ran to agree to her plan. It does seem he has plans of his own and he wants so much more than passion from her. What follows is as they sail they fall for the other but both not willing to give what the other wants. Her father isn’t very happy about her and is even more unhappy when he finds out what the two has been up to. This was an exciting story of love, passion and finding out more about life. Letting go of the past and moving on to happier times. The plot is good, characters are likable. It isn’t the best I have listened to from this author but was very enjoyable.
There were parts of Ms. Pendergast narration I found very enjoyable but others that I did not. I enjoyed her natural voice I truly loved her accent. I enjoyed some of her character voices I thought she really got into the character not only in tone but in emotion. I found her tones to be pretty even. There were no places where the volume was higher or lower than any other place in the book. I had no trouble feeling the emotions of the characters even if I didn’t like their voices. If any breaks were taken I could not tell. There was no place where the volume changes it stays the same throughout. There are no repeating of words, it is a very clear and clean audio. Her delivery was great and her performance was good. You always knew who was talking and just what they were

A treasured Lily
I enjoyed this book very much, the characters were so well put together and the story was just fantastic. I enjoyed Lily s father the best, reminded me of my own dad ,and that punch, I did not see coming, lol. It was fun and sexy one minute and not long after it was action and stunned silence ,it was awesome. Five stars

Second in the series, A Great follow up!
Lily is determined to go for her heart's desire and learns not everything a young girl desires is what she really wants. Dawn sets a wonderful, panoramic display of emotions for Lily. Beatrice Pendergast makes both Lily and the story come to life with her narration!

Loved it
This is the story of Lily Marston the daughters of Pia and Thor from Book 1 a treasured Jewel. Lily is spirited and sort and gets what she wants through her calculating and planning. She has no desire to marry or to be a part of London's High Society. What she wants to live and manage her mothers plantation in South Carolina. Lily tricks her parents and hires the captain of a ship to take her to America. Randall is immediately smitten with Lily and wants her for his wife. Lily wants him as well but marriage is not in her plans. Thus begins the voyage across seas while each tries to convince the other two go along with their plan. I found Randall to be quite the gentleman and romantic at heart and Lily to be a wonderful spirited woman. I love the love story between the two and the end is a surprise twist. I have enjoyed the first two books in the series and look forward to many more
