No words to explain how it made me feel

For the first time, words defeat me, I don’t have the vocabulary to describe the emotions this book stirred up within me.
I began to listen to it and what I thought was just a children’s book, turned out to be so much more.
I would go as far as to say it has changed something in me. No review can truly explain how much this book is worth your time. It is the kind of book that I will be sharing with my whole family and friends.
The message within this book is so innately powerful, that it will resonate with you for years to come.
This is no over exaggeration. Listen to this book and feel what I felt. I promised you.....you won’t be disappointed.
Thank you so much, thank you for bringing these words into my life.

A thought-provoking story

How unlikely an interaction, that of the whale and the self-lamenting krill. I was amused by that krill having an existential crisis. Particularly crying about being eaten while himself eating, ignoring the cries of the plankton, his food. The krill is easily convinced of it’s worth, yet by the same logic he received, the plankton is the biggest creature of all. Poor krill, at least ignorance is bliss.

beautiful

This short story was absolutely beautiful in its telling and its meaning.

A little krill that is thinks he is so insignificant that he has no purpose is so sad, he can't see past his own pain so when the plankton he feeds on tries to talk to him he doesn't hear it as he is so lost in his own misery. The only small light he sees is having the company of his family and when this is ripped away and he is powerless to stop it due to his insignificant size, he is deverstated.

The whale that was responsible for the loss of his family is actually the one that shows him his worth and his part of the bigger picture, of how he feeds into the cycle of life and death in the ocean and the impact that has on the world. It is the whale who makes the Krill understand his own important role in life and helps him find pride and comfort in that, it is also thanks to the whale and this new understanding of life that finally allows the Krill to hear the words of the little plankton and accept with grace their part in the cycle too.

This is a beautiful little story about how no one or nothing is truly insignificant and that if we look at something from another view point we will find the importance in the seemingly unimportant and that is a beautiful little message.

The use of language in this story is exquisite, the descriptions of the ocean and the life contained within it are so vivid and yet easily accessible to children, impressing on them the grandure of the ocean and conveying a very deep message in such a clear and consise manner is lovely and making it easy to have open and honest conversations about the themes of the story.

I really enjoyed Tracy Colliers reading of this short story, she conveys so much emotion and heart with her tone it makes it a really lively listen.

I was given this audiobook for free and have left this review voluntarily.

A great little tale

Me and my kids really enjoyed this short tale. The narration was great and really suited the story.
As it’s short, it’s hard to build up a more comprehensive feel for the author and narrator, but I think it would make a great addition to a compilation of stories to make a more valuable use of a credit.
This is my honest opinion on a free review copy.
