Summary
Judi Rifkin is one of the world’s most successful collectors of the weird and unnatural. In a London underworld filled with criminals with very special talents, Judi is a force to be reckoned with.
And Gideon Sable—thief, rogue, and chancer—owes her a very large favor.
Judi makes him an offer he can’t refuse: steal her the legendary Masque of Ra, kept safe in a Las Vegas casino, and she’ll wipe the slate clean.
This isn’t Gideon’s first heist by a long shot. But with old grudges threatening to cloud his judgment, an unpredictable crew who don’t entirely trust each other, and a formidable supernatural security team guarding his target, this job might be a gamble too far….

Good story
Good story, a "Simon R. Green" one. Nice follow up to part one. Hope there will be more of Gideon Sable coming.

A lot of fun, but could have used stronger editor
Methadone for addicts of comic books, Gaiman, Aaronovitch, Kadrey etc. This series hits a lot of the key notes (very fun characters, interesting powers, mythological references etc) but falls short on deeper resonances and on making the real-world aspects feel credible - business meetings that feel like lazy sketches without bothering to consider if they're really plausible, for example. I feel an editor should have been stricter here. It leaves the whole thing feeling fun but disposable. It also doesn't quite hit the mark as proper pulp as it's a bit too cautious (that's where it doesn't match up to Kadrey: it's got something of a Disney Sandman Slim vibe). It's saved by a superb performance. It'd make a great TV show, like a supernatural Ocean's Eleven, if someone could tighten up the nuts and bolts. Overall: it's OK, and I'm gonna keep going... but mainly because there are new releases I'm waiting for.
