Miranda Sherry grew up in Johannesburg in a house filled with books, and has been writing stories since as far back as she can remember. As she grew up, she abandoned her dreams of becoming an author, afraid that it wasn’t a ‘real job’ and that she’d be no good at it anyway. A few decades, numerous strange jobs (including puppeteer, bartender and musician), she finally drummed up the courage to try, and many manuscripts and rejections later, Black Dog Summer was published by Head of Zeus in 2014. Described by Kirkus as ‘A hauntingly beautiful tale from a writer to watch’, it follows a dysfunctional family struggling to cope with the aftermath of a murder. Miranda’s second novel, Bone Meal for Roses, was released in September 2016. Miranda currently lives in Johannesburg with the love of her life (who’s name is Grant) and two weird cats. She is working on her next book. Find out more at http://www.mirandasherry.com/
