Jason K. Allen

Jason K. Allen is a writer, filmmaker, nature photographer, and wilderness guide from Nashville, Tennessee. Several of Allen's screenplays have been produced. Most recently his film "American Sock" won Best Original Screenplay at the 2014 San Diego Film Awards. His script "Lucky Teeter" (later produced as the feature film "Lucky Fritz") won the Tennessee Screenwriting Association's national screenplay competition. Allen earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism/Mass Communications from Middle Tennessee State University. As a journalist, he won three Associated Press Awards for feature writing. In 2009, Allen created the Couchville Lake Arboretum at Long Hunter State Park in Tennessee. It became the first state-certified arboretum in a Tennessee State Park. He is author of the Couchville Lake Arboretum guide, which is an in-depth look at the 44 species of trees found along the arboretum trail.
