Andrew Chatterton is a Second World War historian. His main focus are the highly secret civilian forces set up to hamper a German invasion of Britain. These groups include the Auxiliary Units, Special Duties Branch, Home Guard guerrilla sections, industrial saboteurs and Section VII. His latest book, Britain's Secret Defences: Civilian Saboteurs, Spies and Assassins, tells the fascinating story of how these groups were set up, their suicidal role had the Nazis invaded and how most went to the grave without telling anyone of their role. Chatterton is also Managing Director of a PR agency and lives with his wife and two daughters in Devon.
